Connect Instagram
Authorize Instagram through Meta's official connection and get your first account into Wysestats.
Connecting Instagram is the one step Wysestats cannot skip. Without it, every chart, report, and planner database is empty.
Before you start
Confirm all three before opening the connection flow. If any fail, jump to the persona pointer at the bottom of this page.
- Your Instagram account is Business or Creator, not Personal. See Why Meta requires a Business or Creator account.
- Your Instagram account is linked to a Facebook Page. Most Business and Creator accounts already are. If yours is not, the Instagram account will not appear in the Meta picker.
- You can log in to the Facebook account that owns or manages the Page that the Instagram account is linked to.
Steps
- Open Account → Connections.
- Click Connect Account.
- Log in to Facebook in the window Meta opens. This is correct — Instagram Business and Creator accounts authorize through Meta's Facebook side.
- Review the requested capabilities. Wysestats asks only for the ability to read insights for the accounts you choose, list the Pages you manage, and see public profile information.
- Grant access.
- Choose the Instagram account you want from the list Meta shows. If more than one appears, see Choose the right Instagram account.
- Confirm. You return to Wysestats and the account appears in Account → Connections with a Pending first sync label.
What happens next
The first daily refresh fills historical insights up to Meta's retention window for each metric. Most account-level data appears within a few minutes. Per-post insights and retention curves can take up to one full day to populate. This is normal. The product is not broken.
