Choose the right Instagram account
Pick the correct Instagram account when Meta's picker shows more than one option.
After you grant access, Meta shows every Instagram account it can reach through the Facebook account you logged in with. For most people there is one obvious choice. For agencies and people who manage several brands, the picker can be intimidating.
Why multiple options appear
Each Facebook account can manage many Pages. Each Page can have one connected Instagram account. The picker lists every Instagram account reachable through every Page the logged-in Facebook account manages. If you manage ten client Pages, you may see ten Instagram accounts.
How to identify the right one
Match in this order:
- Instagram handle — the most reliable signal. Pick the account whose handle matches the one you want to analyze.
- Page name — useful when several handles look similar.
- Profile picture — fastest visual confirmation once you've narrowed it down.
If you are not sure, open Instagram in a separate tab, confirm the handle, then return to the picker.
When the right account is missing
If the account you want is not in the list, one of three things is true:
- The underlying Page is not under the Facebook account you logged in with. Log out of Facebook, log in with the account that does manage the Page, and start the connection again.
- The Instagram account is still Personal. Meta only exposes Business and Creator accounts. Convert it from inside the Instagram mobile app, then retry. See Why Meta requires a Business or Creator account.
- The Instagram account is not linked to any Facebook Page yet. Open the Instagram mobile app, go to Settings → Accounts Center, and link the account to the Page you manage. Then retry the connection.
Connecting more than one
You can connect more than one Instagram account from the same Facebook login. Pick one now, finish, then click Connect Account again to add the next. Each connected account appears under your active profile.
