Create a report

Build a report from template to share link in one pass — pick the template, account, and date range, preview, save, and share.

The report builder is a stepper. You move through it left to right, with a live preview alongside that updates as you change things.

Before you start

You need:

  • a connected Instagram account with data in the date range you want to report on
  • a clear sense of what window the report should cover (last 7 days, last month, a campaign window)

If your plan covers multiple accounts and you have more than one connected, the builder will ask you to pick which account this report is for. Otherwise it skips that step.

The steps

  1. Platform — currently Instagram.
  2. Account (only when you have more than one connected account) — pick the account this report covers.
  3. Template — start from Editorial (the default) or pick another template. Templates set the layout, typography, and visual tone; you can customize details later.
  4. Time period — set the date range. Comparison to the prior equal period is on by default.
  5. Features — toggle which sections to include or hide. Hidden sections stay reserved in the layout, so toggling them back on is instant.
  6. Editor — fine-tune copy, notes, colors, and per-metric visibility. Outliers in the report are highlighted with a distinct color cue so they stand out at a glance, and view tooltips explain what each visualization is showing without cluttering the page.
  7. Export — choose interactive HTML, PDF, or both, and save the report.

What happens when you save

Saving generates a snapshot of the metrics and posts at that moment. The report is then added to your reports list, where you can:

  • Open it again any time — it will show the same numbers it did the day you generated it
  • Share it via a link, with optional expiry and revocation
  • Download the PDF or interactive file
  • Rename or delete it

Sharing

From the reports list, open the share control on the report and create a share link. You can set an expiry, copy the link, and revoke access later from the same control. The recipient does not need a Wysestats account to view a shared report.

Common pitfalls

  • Building from the wrong account because you forgot to confirm the Account step.
  • Picking a date range that does not match the narrative you want to share — a 7-day range will not show a 30-day trend.
  • Skipping the preview before exporting. The editor preview reflects the final layout closely; review it before generating the PDF.
