First-run onboarding
What each onboarding screen does and why your answers shape the rest of the product.
After you sign up, Wysestats runs a short personalization flow. Two of the screens are skippable; the rest are required. Your answers do real work — they configure Home, seed Explore filters, and pre-build your planner.
Before the seven screens: connect Instagram
The very first onboarding action is connecting your first Instagram account. Wysestats cannot personalize anything until it has data, so this happens before the personalization screens. If you skipped or postponed this earlier, see Connect Instagram.
The seven personalization screens
1. Role (required)
Tell Wysestats whether you are a creator, a marketer, an agency, or a team. This personalizes the Home dashboard and the kinds of recommendations you see.
2. Niche (required, pick at least one)
Choose the categories that describe your content — for example, fitness, beauty, food, travel. Niches seed the default filters in Explore and feed your AI account brief on Home, so the more accurate they are, the more useful those views become.
3. Goals (required, pick at least one)
Pick what you want to get out of Wysestats — grow followers, improve engagement, plan content, learn from competitors, and so on. Your goals drive the onboarding checklist that appears on Home, so you only see the next steps that matter to you.
4. Competitors (skippable)
Add a handful of accounts you want to benchmark against. If you fill this in, Wysestats creates a watchlist called My Competitors and pre-populates Explore with it. Skip this and you can add competitors later from Explore.
5. Content style (required, pick a primary format)
Tell Wysestats what kind of content you make most often — Reels, carousels, photo posts, mixed. This informs the content recommendations you receive.
6. Posting schedule (required, pick a frequency)
Tell Wysestats how often you post. This sets the default cadence for your planner database so it is ready to use immediately, not empty.
7. Content series (skippable)
If you run recurring content series — a weekly tip thread, a monthly recap — list them here and Wysestats creates the matching series sets in your planner. Skip this and you can add series later from the planner.
What happens after you finish
A short loading screen runs while Wysestats:
- Builds your My Competitors watchlist (if you added competitors).
- Generates your AI account brief — statistical analysis of your recent content and recommendations based on your niche and goals.
- Classifies your existing Reels by audio style so filtering by voiceover works.
- Creates your planner database with your posting schedule and series.
When loading finishes, you land on Explore. Your account brief and onboarding checklist appear on Home as soon as they are ready.
